James Anderson
Over the years, I’ve helped clients make their mortgages work better for them—often by using home equity to fund renovations, add rental space, or simplify debt, with the potential to lower monthly payments and reduce long-term interest costs.
For self-employed clients, qualifying for a mortgage can feel especially frustrating. Income doesn’t always fit neatly into a lender’s box, even when a business is doing well. My background in small business and commercial banking gives me a clear understanding of how lenders assess self-employed income and how to present it fairly. I enjoy supporting business owners, contractors, and professionals through the process—explaining what’s really required and helping structure financing that reflects how they actually earn.
I’ve supported people at every stage of homeownership, from buying a 450-square-foot condo to purchasing larger homes and acreages, and everything in between—including first homes, cottages, and long-term investment properties.
With approximately 15 years of experience in finance, including a background in retail and commercial banking, I bring a thoughtful, steady approach to residential lending. I enjoy the problem-solving side of this work—asking good questions, explaining things clearly, and helping structure financing that makes sense over the long term.
